As an Environmental Engineer/Scientist focused on wastewater facilities operations and compliance, you will assume a lead role protecting the natural environment and public health in communities across Pennsylvania. Gannett Fleming embraces a hybrid work schedule with the option to work from our PA locations to include Camp Hill, Valley Forge, or Pittsburgh. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to couple your passion for the environment with your strong acumen for data analysis, while leading a variety of municipal and industrial wastewater projects to in support of regional client goals to meet their regulatory water quality needs. Responsibilities: Lead site visits, surveys and inspections, in addition to the collection and compilation of data for wastewater treatment projects. Compile and analyze large data sets for wastewater operations parameters. Participate in the planning of wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects. Prepare studies, planning documents, and other written regulatory compliance reports. Prepare federal, state and local permit applications, including NPDES permits, Biosolids Beneficial Use Permits, Industrial Pretreatment, Water Quality Management Part II Permits. Meet with wastewater treatment plant owners, review contract documents, evaluate scopes of work for eligible projects and coordinate with compliance staff and senior operators. Provides technical guidance and advice on wastewater quality issues, including future regulations, that may affect utility operations Travel throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania may be required periodically. Trips will generally be limited to during business hours Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline 7+ years of wastewater facility operations and maintenance experience Strong technical background with wastewater collection systems, pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, water distribution mains, storage tanks, and water treatment facilities Water and wastewater agency experience; i.e., PADEP, SRBC, USDA, CFA, Counties, Municipalities and Municipal Authorities A demonstrated ability to foster relationships, communication skills, and technical engagement to implement strategic improvements in utility operations At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
