Job Summary: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA), the fastest-growing Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the nation and one of Atlanta's top workplaces in 2023, seeks an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive operational and programmatic excellence across Program Services and IT. Reporting directly to the CEO and as part of the Executive Leadership Team , the COO will shape BBBSMA's strategic direction, enhance program impact, and foster a culture that supports BBBSMA's mission of empowering Atlanta's youth. Lead initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness Program Services and IT Oversight : Ensure excellence in program delivery, evaluation, and IT strategy with a focus on data-driven decision-making and measurable outcomes Sustain and Grow the Level Up Program : Lead the sustainability and expansion of BBBSMA's Level Up program, strengthening relationships with Atlanta and DeKalb Public Schools and cultivating partnerships with additional school systems to expand reach and impact Community and Stakeholder Engagement : Build and nurture strategic relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to expand program reach Resource Allocation and Financial Oversight : Oversee budgeting and resource management for Program Services and IT, ensuring sound financial practices and alignment with strategic priorities Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across program and IT functions, safeguarding BBBSMA's resources and reputation Team Leadership and Development : Mentor department heads and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and mission alignment within Program Services and IT Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) : Champion JEDI values across BBBSMA's culture and programs, embedding these principles into organizational operations and community engagement Ideal Candidate Profile: Mission-Aligned Leader : Strong commitment to BBBSMA's mission, with a dedication to fostering equity, inclusion, and diversity Visionary Strategist : Proven experience in developing and executing high-impact, data-driven strategies that advance organizational goals Operational Expertise : Success in optimizing program and IT operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and alignment with organizational objectives Collaborative Communicator : Skilled at engaging and inspiring diverse audiences and building lasting relationships with stakeholders Analytical and Data-Oriented : Strong analytical skills to interpret data and improve program and IT strategy, with particular expertise in CRM systems like Salesforce to manage data, streamline processes, and support organization-wide insights Essential Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required ; Master's degree in, Business, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field preferred 15+ years of professional experience , with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles within a nonprofit or human services organization Deep, hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM is required to enhance program tracking, data analytics, and operational processes across the organization Proficiency in Program and IT Management : Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and program management Exceptional Communication Skills : Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders and to build strong relationships with diverse partners Financial Acumen : Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and data analysis to support financial sustainability Bilingual in Spanish and/or Creole is a plus, but not required Work Environment: Hybrid work schedule based in the Atlanta office Must be able to travel locally for events and meetings as required Compensation: The COO position is full-time and exempt, with a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $165,000 , based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, retirement, paid time off, and other employee benefits About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta For 63 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) has transformed the lives of children in our community through a proven youth development strategy: one-to-one mentoring.
