The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Sourcing Manager for the Outsource Manufacturing and Hard Goods - Metals and Electronics Team, you will be responsible for providing support to 3M business divisions, serving as a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Electronics category. This position will also drive sourcing policies and best practices, while helping the sourcing organization and 3M meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals by leading negotiations, being part of effective NPI launches, and managing complex supplier relationships. As a Sourcing Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps. Primary contact and focal point to the various 3M Business Units to address all sourcing and supplier NPI management issues for the category assigned. Collaborate with Business Unit partners to understand the long-term requirements, mapping requirements into supply base offerings. Lead and orchestrate the roadmap reviews between engineering and suppliers, find solutions, build proposals, and implement them to meet business requirements, striking a balance between supply continuity, cost, and delivery. Lead QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and EBR (Executive Business Reviews) with suppliers & be able to effectively communicate with executive teams. Transform multiple and complex streams of information into simple, clear and concise terms to be presented to stakeholders. Assembles and leads multiple project teams, including new product introductions, to implement sourcing solutions for the category. Establishes close working relationship with business unit management and suppliers on sourcing strategies and activities. Performs complex contract negotiations. Develop Total Cost of Ownership calculations for the category. Proactively communicates project direction and status with business unit and sourcing management. Recommends and influences management decisions in the area of sourcing solutions. Researches and understands the short- and long-term market outlook for cost driver assigned materials and feed stocks. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. Ten (10) years of cross-functional supply chain experience sourcing and procurement in a private, public, government or military environment. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Deep experience direct material strategic sourcing. For electronics - PCBA and Modules, SMT, wireless chips (RF, PA, WiFi, Bluetooth), EMS partner development, ESD/Sensors, Semi-Conductor strategy/sourcing. Bachelor's degree or higher preferably in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start). MBA degree (completed and verified prior to start). Experience in sourcing and developing direct material suppliers globally. Experience with MSA, multi-year contracts, RFPs and should-cost models. Experience developing, leading, and executing global commodity strategies focused on supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies. Willingness and ability to travel to support vendors, suppliers, etc., up to 50% of the time. Strong negotiation skills. Experience with MRP/ERP systems. Work Location: Remote United States or Canada. Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international. Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.
