The Revenue Cycle Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst focuses on leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to optimize the revenue cycle processes. This role involves analyzing revenue cycle data, generating insights, and developing strategies to improve financial performance and operational efficiency through system-wide data extractions, queries, and data delivery. This position collaborates with various stakeholders across all departments to ensure their data reporting requirements are met through data extraction, reports and dashboards building. Roles and Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large volumes of revenue cycle data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Develop, maintain, and optimize reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in accounts receivable (AR), denial rates, and billing accuracy. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to address specific business needs and support decision-making. Business Intelligence Development: Design and implement business intelligence solutions that support revenue cycle management and financial operations. Utilize BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView) to create visualizations and interactive dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in BI reports and dashboards. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement within the revenue cycle processes through data analysis and reporting. Collaborate with revenue cycle and operational teams to develop and implement strategies for process optimization and performance enhancement. Monitor the impact of process changes and provide feedback and recommendations for further improvements. Data Management and Integration: Manage and integrate data from various sources, including electronic health records (EHR), billing systems, claim scrubbers, and financial systems. Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring timely and accurate data availability for analysis and reporting. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with revenue cycle management, finance, and IT teams to gather requirements, address data-related issues, and support BI initiatives. Communicate findings and insights clearly to stakeholders, including senior management, to drive informed decision-making. Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and report usage. Strategic Support: Assist in the development of strategic plans and initiatives aimed at improving revenue cycle performance. Provide analytical support for budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and revenue cycle management. Required Skills and Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis or revenue cycle management. Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView) and data visualization techniques. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, billing, coding, and healthcare financial operations. Experience with data management, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present data and insights effectively to various stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Skills and Experience: Education Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Business Intelligence Professional [CBIP], Certified Revenue Cycle Professional [CRCP]) are a plus. Physical Requirements: This position is typically office-based, with the possibility of remote work or hybrid arrangements. Lifting up to 20 pounds, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, as well as repetitive use of hands and fingers. Location and Travel Requirements: Remote Travel requires quarterly onsite visits to Ithaca, NY. Pay Range Disclosure: $83,000 to $120,000 per year.
