Launched in 2006 when four friends began hosting Shabbat dinners in their home, Moishe House provides a space for over 70,000 young adults around the world to create meaningful, welcoming Jewish communities for themselves and their peers each year. To date, there are more than 150 communities in over 40 countries, and we're still growing! Base and Moishe House are searching for an Operations Manager to be an integral member of our national team's work to grow the field of entrepreneurial spiritual leadership. This is an opportunity for a logistics maven/data analyst/expert executor to support the growing demand for inspiring rabbinic leadership in pluralistic and accessible settings. As Operations Manager, you'll enable the success of Base through the management and analysis of our finances, metrics, and logistics. You'll thrive in this role if you get excited by numbers and the stories they tell; if you're someone who is exceptionally attentive to details, and you know how to translate data and analytics into compelling narratives. Based in one of our U.S. hubs (New York City, D.C., Chicago, Charlotte, Encinitas), you'll be able to work collaboratively with colleagues across the globe and will possess a strong commitment to Base and Moishe House's vision and mission. What You'll Do: Collaborating with the Base Executive Director, Finance Department, and Moishe House leadership to develop and maintain an annual budget that aligns with the strategic goals. Monitoring actual financial performance against the budget, identifying any variances, and investigating the reasons behind them. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Base national team, local and Moishe House leadership, and external stakeholders. Tracking grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Collaborating closely with Finance Department to ensure alignment and compliance with financial policies and procedures. Overseeing accounts payable and receivable. Lead the management and analysis of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by: Collaborating with Base and Moishe House leadership to develop relevant KPIs that align with the mission and theory of change. Implementing systems and processes for collecting and reporting KPIs (monthly, quarterly, annually) to ensure accuracy and consistency. Monitoring performance, analyzing trends, and identifying patterns to support growth and decision-making. Designing clear and visually engaging presentations and dashboards to communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance and insights. Translating complex data into stories and insights that demonstrate impact, and better equip our team with actionable intelligence of our successes and recommended areas of growth. Serving as Project Manager for local and national initiatives, including: National retreat and staff gathering logistics; Annual organization-wide impact evaluations; Local Base fundraising campaigns; Deployment of platforms and services (e.g. mass communications, event registration, etc.); Collaborating with the Immersive Experiences department on local Base retreats; Safety & security strategies. Who You Are: You believe in innovative approaches to building Jewish community. You have strong business acumen and experience maintaining complex budgets. You have an exceptionally analytical eye to interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making. You're proficient in setting up data collection processes and maintaining accurate and reliable records. You're both a strategic thinker and a problem solver - you can identify different variables contributing to challenges, and at the same time develop actionable solutions. You are a highly skilled communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial and performance data to non-financial audiences, including rabbis, staff, and donors. You have a superior track record with program planning and execution, including creating and managing timelines and work plans for several projects at once. You have experience in effectively collaborating and working independently and self-sufficiently with a team spread across multiple geographic areas. You have a proven ability of demonstrating sound judgment by making appropriate decisions, knowing when to take initiative in identifying problems and devising solutions, and when to ask for help. You are proficient with the Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Experience with Sage Intacct and Salesforce preferred, along with an excitement for learning new software technology. You're familiar with the North American Jewish communal landscape and institutions. You have a minimum of 5 years' full-time post-undergraduate professional experience in a similar role, preferably in the nonprofit sector. You have a Bachelor's Degree , or an equivalent four years of additional, relevant, full-time work experience. You have a deep appreciation for the Base model of Jewish pluralism, and the wider Moishe House mission of creating community for Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s. You are eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. The Fine Print: The Base Operations Manager is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director, Base. It requires occasional travel and evening and weekend hours to complete job requirements. This position is based in one of our U.S. Hub Offices (Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Encinitas, CA, Washington, D.C., or NYC). Our team works a hybrid schedule at our Hub Offices, where employees can choose to work remotely 2 days per week and collaborate in-person with coworkers the rest of the week. If you have more experience and/or are targeting a different salary range, let's talk!
