CLEARANCE DOD Secret WORKSITE Onsite Fort Belvoir, VA TRAVEL 25% (long-distance travel, primarily CONUS) JOB DESCRIPTION As an Army Force Management Instructor/Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the capabilities of military and civilian Force Managers. With a focus on educating and instructing individuals, this position aims to cultivate leaders who can adeptly navigate and integrate the multifaceted Force Management practices and processes critical to the Army's operational success. The role primarily revolves around delivering comprehensive instruction on "How the Army Runs" (HTAR) and pertinent Standard Operating Procedures, employing innovative educational methodologies to ensure maximum impact. Job Duties Design and conduct courses aligned with the Army Learning Model (ALM), employing effective instructional techniques to deliver high-quality education. Develop comprehensive lesson plans, including but not limited to student handouts, slide decks, training aids, and course management plans, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives. Collaborate with external authorities to ensure the quality and relevance of AFMS course content, participating in rigorous quality reviews when necessary. Conduct assessments of curriculum from other learning institutions, contributing insights for continuous improvement. Lead or support the creation and upkeep of vital educational resources, including sections of "How the Army Runs (HTAR)" and AFMS Academic Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), as well as research papers, white papers, and reports as required. Deliver on-site training and facilitation at various locations across the United States, overseeing intensive 2- to 5-day training courses. Utilize online synchronous and asynchronous distributed learning methods to expand the reach and accessibility of educational offerings. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructing FM related processes and systems for DOD organizations, or 5 years of similar experience supporting other DOD organizations. Deep understanding of DOD Force Management requirements and processes, preferably with direct experience in US Army Force Management. Familiarity with recent US Army efforts regarding the Army Modernization Enterprise (AME). Proven track record of teaching in a DOD or analogous environment, demonstrating proficiency in conveying complex concepts effectively. Expertise in "How the Army Runs (HTAR)" functions, encompassing Strategy, Capability Development, Manning, Equipping, Training, and Readiness. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with experience in writing and grading papers at the Masters or executive level. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, organizational prowess, and a dedication to customer service excellence. Value-added experience in planning, coordinating staffing actions, facilitating training sessions, working collaboratively in team settings, and managing multiple tasks concurrently. Proficiency in Blackboard for online learning management. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Education Bachelor's degree is mandatory. Completion of Command & General Staff College or equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE), and/or AFMS HTARC/AFMC or FA50Q course is highly desirable. Certification(s) None.
