Position Summary: The Radiation Therapist Aide will work in conjunction with the Radiation Therapist. This position will be responsible for performing routine technical support activities aiding the Radiation Therapist in daily operations for New York Proton Center radiation therapy services. Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in setting up radiation oncology treatment equipment. Assists in positioning patients and aiding them in getting on and off treatment tables. Efficiently maintain clinical supply levels Assist in coordinating clinical operations with the Therapy Leadership, Radiation Therapist's, Nurses, and other associated health care professionals Assist with patient transfers throughout the clinic Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them Collaborate with the Therapy Leadership and Radiation Therapist's to facilitate daily clinical activities Communicates with Chief and Lead Radiation Therapist(s) to report back ways to improve the patient experience Call new and current patients to confirm appointments Schedule appointments for patients under the Chief and lead therapist(s) supervision. Offer new ideas, solutions, and/or options through innovative and critical thinking Identify challenges and opportunities for change or improvement Clearly and concisely convey relevant information in both formal in informal documentation Utilize appropriate communication with all members of the healthcare team Encourage collaboration and input from all team members, valuing the contributions of others Balance individual goals with those of the team Maintain professionalism at all times Promote adherence to documented policies and procedures Demonstrate practice related learning and sharing knowledge and skills with others Maintain flexible staff scheduling Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Perform other job-related duties, as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent License and Certification: Must be certified in Basic Life Support/CPR (Required) Experience: Previous healthcare experience (Preferred) Excellent customer service and communication skills About the Area: New York City is a major metropolitan city and is home to world-renowned cultural offerings.
