Associate Director of Institutional Giving Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Inc. (AILEY), one of the world's premier dance institutions, seeks an experienced, motivated, and personable Associate Director of Institutional Giving to drive forward the organization's institutional giving efforts. AILEY is a nonprofit organization comprised of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, The Ailey School, Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs, and Ailey Extension. Position Summary: The Associate Director of Institutional Giving is a dynamic and strategic leader with a proven track record of identifying, securing, and stewarding major foundation, corporate, and government gifts. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Associate Director will work closely with colleagues organization-wide to develop the planning and implementation of the Institutional Giving program, which supports the efforts of the companies, Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs, and The Ailey School. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 4+ years of fundraising experience, including 2+ years as a frontline fundraiser and supervisor. Candidates must have excellent writing and analytical skills, an ability to establish and manage deadlines, work both independently and collaboratively, and have a knowledge and appreciation for dance. Responsibilities: Support the Director of Institutional Giving in maintaining AILEY's relationships with an extensive and diverse group of foundation, corporate, and government funders supporting efforts across the organization Strategize with the Director of Institutional Giving to establish budgets and create and execute clear and comprehensive institutional giving plans Update contact records, assign budget needs, and reference budget and gift reports in Salesforce Write complex foundation, corporate, and government proposals and reports Manage the corporate membership program Meet with artistic leadership and project managers to craft proposals for special projects Manage higher-level government relationships and funding, including local, state, and national grant making entities Collaborate with finance on project budgets to accompany proposals and reports Collect organization-wide reach figures and maintain number tracking spreadsheets Interpret data in number tracking to include in funder reports Arrange site visits and event remarks with institutional donors and prospects Supervise seasonal assistants, interns, and student workers Minimum Qualifications 4+ years of experience working in a multi-faceted fundraising office with supervisory experience Understanding of institutional fundraising and familiarity with local and national foundations, corporations, and government funders at the national, state, and local level Strong writing skills with proficient experience drafting and editing complex grant proposals Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Ability to lead, work independently, and as a member of a team Highly organized, pays close attention to detail, ability to establish objectives, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment Knowledge of prospect research tools and best practices for non-profit organizations Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed Experience working with performing arts and cultural organizations and a knowledge of New York City's philanthropic circles is preferred Knowledge of and appreciation for dance/performing arts preferred Experience with Salesforce as a CRM preferred Bachelor's degree required/master's degree preferred Start date: Immediate Compensation: $90,000 - 95,000 annual salary.
