Job Description: Technical Operations Manager The Technical Operations Manager supports the Department Housing Operations. The Technical Operations Manager position shares in the responsibility for overall direction of a comprehensive, auxiliary housing program serving approximately 700 students. The primary focus of this position is to provide support to daily housing operations within the department. Additionally, this position will support the housing management system and implement assignments, applications, room changes, and other operational processes. This position will interact with students, parents, campus partners and guests daily. This is position does include some evening and weekend commitments. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert in StarRez software for processes and work flows as related to assignments, room changes, student correspondence, and charges related to room, cancellations, and damages. Assist in the coordination, planning and implementation of room assignment processes during academic terms for all Life University operated residential facilities. This includes overseeing all student assignments; room changes, term switch needs, wait lists, room charges, damage billing, student correspondence, room cancellations, etc. Serve as a contact for student, family, and staff questions regarding housing assignments and billing. Communication will include answering phone calls, working with prospective residents and responding to e-mail messages. Work with several campus partners on a regular basis to ensure optimal customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Campus partnerships include, but are not limited to: Residence Life, Facilities Management, Student Conduct, Student Accounts, Registrar, Card Services, Enrollment Management, and Financial Aid. Maintain and review business workflows to enable clear customer-facing transactions and handle all student records with utmost confidentiality and professionalism. In collaboration with the Director of Housing Operations, plan, implement, and execute the quarterly Opening/Closing and Term Switch processes as well as license agreement renewals. Process appropriate charges to student accounts including (but not limited to) room, cancellation and damage charges. Supervise and assist student employees with housing duties and inquiries that come from internal/external stakeholders. Work with the Dean of Students and campus partners (if applicable) regarding housing application cancellations and residency exemption requests. Correspond with students in a timely manner regarding the result of their requests and file all associated paperwork. Represent Housing at marketing events: New Student Orientation, Enrollment Management events, Open Houses, and other Life University programs. Limited nights or evening work is possible to meet this expectation. Process room changes in collaboration with the Director of Housing Operations and the Residence Life Hall Advisors. Processing includes the approval of room change requests, the notification to all affected students and professional staff, student account changes and any follow-up. Conduct data audits for accuracy of data in Star Rez, Colleague, and Backboard. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years of previous direct related experience in data processing and platform management. Five (5) years previous experience in a higher education setting. OR Associate Degree Five (5) years of previous direct related experience in data processing and platform management. Seven (7) years previous experience in a higher education setting.
