Job Title: Structural Engineer (PE Licensed) Job Type: Full-Time Overview: A leading engineering consulting firm in New Jersey is seeking an accomplished Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing, analyzing, and managing the construction of commercial structures. This role demands a strong foundation in structural engineering principles, robust project management capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across various disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Design & Analysis: Develop and assess structural systems for commercial projects, including steel, concrete, and masonry structures. Documentation: Create comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Compliance & Safety: Perform structural calculations and simulations to ensure adherence to building codes and industry standards. Quality Assurance: Review and approve construction materials and methods, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to devise innovative and cost-effective design solutions. Site Management: Conduct site visits and inspections to oversee construction progress and ensure alignment with design specifications. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafting personnel. Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. Continuous Learning: Stay informed on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory. Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with an emphasis on commercial construction projects. Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Thorough understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IBC, ASCE, ACI). Exceptional problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
