Posting Details Position Information Position Title Program Coordinator: (CEGFSD) Job Type Staff Position Information The School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences (SANS), University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), seeks applications and nominations for the position of Program Coordinator, 1890 Universities Center of Excellence for Global Food Security and Defense (CEGFSD). This position is critical in providing financial support to the Center. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team encompassing several programs within the 1890 Land Grant UniversitiesThis is a twelve-month, full-time, exempt staff position. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities The primary duty of the Program Coordinator is to provide financial support to CEGFSD. Specific responsibilities will include: Perform the financial administration of the Center. Manage Center's financial matters including execution of the sub-award agreements to partner institutions. Liaise with Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR), OSPR at partner institutions, SANS Office of Fiscal Affairs, and other relevant university offices. Create purchase orders and execute professional service provider agreements. Process travel reimbursements. Monitor outstanding checks monthly. Address students, researchers/faculty, and/or vendors questions/concerns related to grant accounts and provide appropriate information or assistance. Maintain an inventory of all forms as related to research and university accounts. Assist in records retention and disposal process for grant accounts. Generate :financial reports as related to CEGFSD accounts and sub-awards. Perform accurate filing of accounts payable reports. Perform other related duties as assigned. Classification Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in business administration, finance or related business field. Two years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Broad knowledge of computer, information technology, and complex software packages. Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines. Experience working with research grants. Knowledge of Land-Grant Universities. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of general accounting practices. Knowledge and ability to plan and develop organizational budgets. Skill in maintaining and managing multiple accounting records. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Ability to take on new responsibilities and work effectively in an environment of change and ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with external constituencies and stakeholders including public and private organizations. Problem-solving skills.
