Salary: $14.00 - $16.23 Hourly Location : Bob Crane Community Center, OH Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 00846 Department: Bob Crane Community Center Opening Date: 11/06/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : As part of the Parks and Recreation team, reporting directly to the Rental Coordinator, this position assists customers with special events, rentals, and community activities at the Bob Crane Community Center, the Amelita Mirolo Barn and additional parks facilities. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : For purposes of 42 USC 12101: • Assists with overseeing event operations of the Bob Crane Community Center and the Amelita Mirolo Barn. • Provides tours of all rental facilities. • Plans a small timeline and floor layouts for events. • Plans and coordinates marketing opportunities. • Provide assistance to Rental Coordinator and customers with rental contracts, reservations, and facility layouts/plans. • Maintains correspondence with rental groups and individuals, caterers, non-profit organizations and other vendors. • Acts as a liaison at events with caterers, renters and vendors. • Ensures the Amelita Mirolo Barn and shelters are opened and closed at scheduled times; Ensures the Bob Crane Community Center is closed at scheduled times. • Maintains the security of all rental facilities and responsible for safety action during emergencies. • Assists with enforcing facility and department policies. • Sweeps and mops floors, dusts, cleans tables, chairs, walls and counters, empties trash and recycling, and washes windows. • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and drinking fountains and replenishes restroom supplies. • Sets up and tears down tables and chairs for meetings, special events, classes and programs. • Prepares and maintains required records and reports. • Provide general first aid and respond to emergencies in cases of participant's injury or illness. Initiate building emergency actions plans and fill out appropriate accident and incident reports when needed. • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : • Performs other duties as required. (5%) Typical Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS : • Possession of a high school diploma or GED required; • Prior event planning or management experience preferred. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : • CPR and First Aid certification required within first thirty days of employment; • Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the City's insurance policy.
