About the Job: We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Retail Loan Officer in the Springfield and Chicopee areas ! In this role, you'll help to identify and serve the community's financial needs through originating mortgage and HELOC loans, including assisting first-time, low- and moderate-income, and underserved applicants. This position partners with realtors, attorneys and local agencies to source loan opportunities, promote the Bank's products and services, and support the communities we serve through financial literacy education, including leading home loan counseling program and real estate agent seminars. The pay range for this position is $57,000 to $91,000 . This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned): Originates mortgage and HELOC loans, including assisting first-time, low- and moderate-income, and underserved applicants and geographies within the Bank's market areas. Develops and fosters industry relations including Realtors, Builders, customers and other business development contacts. Identifies opportunities to develop new business relationships or expand existing relationships. Actively participates in local business and community activities and maintains close contact with local builders, real estate brokers/agents, customers and prospects, including leading first-time home buyer seminars and home loan counseling. Works to develop business activity, which will include sales calls to referral partners. Works closely with Sales Team to refer clients to other business lines across the Bank. Works closely with assigned housing agencies to keep them abreast of product changes and looks for ways to expand our product offering to align with the Community Reinvestment Act. Coordinates and conducts home-buying training seminars for potential Community Reinvestment Act and multicultural origination mortgage applicants. Other job duties, as assigned. Knowledge and Skills It is required that candidates for this role are bilingual, with the ability to speak Spanish fluently. Preferred candidate has established connections with realtors, community organizations and/or centers of influence in the Springfield MA area, and experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. An employee in this position must be able to work independently, interpreting ideas and facts, while also analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and/or regulations. This employee should have strong customer service and sales skills, as well as strong written communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations in a group setting. Employees with exceptional verbal and numerical aptitudes are required. Must also be capable of meeting tight deadlines while delivering a high-quality end-product. This position requires intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of a loan origination system, OnBase, and the Finastra core platform is preferred. Familiarity with residential lending documentation and processes/regulations is required. Education and Work Experience Candidates with an existing professional network within the Springfield and Chicopee areas required . A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year of banking and/or sales experience. Candidates with experience in residential mortgage or real estate are strongly preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and renew an active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies.
