POSITION SUMMARY Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT) is seeking a Custodian to join our team. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning commercial building common areas and office space including kitchen and restroom maintenance. RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Remove all garbage from restroom areas nightly. Wipe down inside garbage containers. Fill all paper and soap dispensers within each restroom nightly. Clean all stainless steel within each restroom. Wipe down all accessories, counters, mirrors, partitions, sinks, toilets, sink drain lines, and urinals nightly. Replace urinal dispenser as required. Clean all Exhaust Grills nightly. Check and report for any leaks at base of toilets, flush-o-meters, underneath sinks nightly. Report any stained ceiling tiles observed in the restrooms nightly. Report any light outages both inside and outside restroom areas nightly. Check to ensure all restroom hardware is working properly nightly. Ensure and report all toilets and toilet seats are fastened nightly. Mop floors in each restroom and slop sink rooms nightly. Inspect all restroom walls & doors to ensure they are in good condition nightly. Wipe down walls and entrance doors. Report any broken dispenser locks. Work as directed by Supervisor or designee. Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers Stand or walk for an extended period of time (entire work shift) Be available for overtime work if needed REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES Positive, can-do attitude Must be available to work evenings/weekends Must be able to work on higher floors within a high-rise as needed Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to bend, stretch, climb stairs and walk for extended periods of time EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial cleaning Must be available to work evenings/weekends Must be able to work on higher floors within a high-rise as needed Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to bend, stretch, climb stairs and walk for extended periods of time WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT At ESRT, like our tenants, our employees come from everywhere.
