POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: Provide support to the Quality Technical Manager and assist the Rolling Division in continually improving customer service and in problem resolution. Improve and develop existing systems for reporting and analyzing data. Collect and communicate product quality data. Recommend and implement process improvements regarding quality and efficiency of processed product based on detailed analysis. Ensure all quality procedures are carried out. Work effectively with production to meet customers' expectations while meeting production demands. Research and development of practices and processes related to metallurgical and quality aspects of Charter Steel products. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering or related degree. Internship related experience. High level of initiative for excellence, results, and process improvement. Strong communication and presentation skills to various levels of an organization. Demonstrated abilities in planning and communication of ideas and concepts Knowledge in statistical process control and data analysis. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Demonstrated passion and intellectual curiosity within the steel industry and Material field of study. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in programming and performing queries in various computer applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Develop new computer programs for quality tracking purposes. Collect and communicate product quality data - Root Cause Analysis of process-related defects and effects on final products. Recommend and implement process improvements based on detailed analysis of quality parameters data. Analyze the effect of process changes on product performance. Answer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for problems or issues. Tailor and conduct customer tours based on their product and process needs. Visit customers with Technical Services to trouble-shoot and resolve customer complaints. Answer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for problems/issues in the Quality Technical Manager's absence. #LI-Onsite #LI-CS1
