Position Summary: The Childhood League Center (The Center) is currently looking for a Toddler Teacher (20 hours per week, school year position). The Toddler Teacher establishes classroom goals for individual toddlers with developmental delays and typically developing peers. This role will focus on supporting social interactions and engagement in a language rich, developmentally appropriate, play-based environment. Reporting Structure: Toddler Teacher reports to the Preschool Supervisor (PS) and works in collaboration with the Chief Program Officer (CPO) Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities to meet the needs of each child. • Preparing materials for classroom activities. • Collaborating with classroom assistant(s), families, Primary Service Providers, social workers, behavioral interventionist, and therapists. • Assisting PS and CPO to meet with families regarding transitioning a child from Part C to Part B services for special education services. • Completing all documentation and meeting timelines established by The Center, those related to Step Up To Quality, child assessment, progress reporting, teacher-family conferences, Child and Adult Food Care Program and attendance. • Providing home or virtual visits to each child and their family prior to the start of the child's first day of school. • Establishing and maintaining a relationship with volunteers. • Leading and supervising the activities of classroom assistant(s), student teachers and volunteers. • Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Education and Required Qualifications: • Associate degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification in early childhood education or education field required. • Minimum of 2-3 years of classroom experience with children under the age of 5 with developmental disabilities required. • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred. Subject to Ohio Department of Jobs and Families Services licensing requirements (pass Ohio BCI&I and FBI background check, completion of medical statement, etc.); Candidates must be willing to become certified in first aid and CPR, communicable disease, and child abuse recognition certification within 120 days of employment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; ability to quickly stoop, squat, run, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl, push, pull or twist, floor play work (physically able to sit for long periods of time on hard floor surfaces and/or limited carpet area).
