Job Title: Reliability Engineer (Maintenance) Location: Reading, Pennsylvania Salary: 100k-120k Overview: We are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to join our maintenance team in Reading, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance engineering activities aimed at maximizing safety, quality, and productivity in the daily maintenance of plant equipment. This role focuses on driving continuous improvements in equipment availability and throughput. Essential Functions: Safety Design and Improvements: Implement and oversee safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities. Safety Investigations: Conduct safety investigations and implement corrective actions. Preventive Maintenance Programs: Develop, document, and enhance preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment availability and throughput. Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and production losses. Assist maintenance teams to minimize downtime and lost production. On-Call Support: Provide "on call" support as needed. Supervision: Supervise and schedule daily work for plant electronic technicians. Production Delay Analysis: Analyze production delay data to establish, document, or modify preventive maintenance tasks. Continuous Improvement Projects: Generate continuous improvement projects based on production delay data. Root Cause Analysis: Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports, determine corrective actions, and evaluate their impact on preventive maintenance programs. Cost Justification: Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions. Work Orders: Develop detailed work orders for implementing improvement projects or corrective actions, and follow up to ensure completion. Contractor Coordination: Coordinate work activities of outside contractors with maintenance and production personnel to minimize cost and production impacts. Spare Parts Management: Conduct critical spare parts assessments and standardize parts. Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and implement standard operating procedures, training, and skill development programs for electricians and electronic technicians. Performance Metrics: Establish appropriate performance metrics to promote long-term continuous improvement consistent with departmental objectives. Problem Resolution: Provide support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Project Engineering: Perform project engineering duties as required. Competencies: Leadership: Ability to lead and provide expertise, knowledge, and training in engineering and maintenance. Manufacturing Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and training in product manufacturing, particularly in the production of forged or flat-rolled metal products. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including being action-oriented, a conflict manager, decision-maker, comprehensive listener, time manager, and maintaining a positive attitude. Role Fulfillment: Ability to fulfill the roles of facilitator, coach, mentor, counselor, and communicator. Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to advance those skills as required. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Formal training or experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor role.
