DO & CO is looking for a Food Safety Quality Technician to support our teams in Metro Detroit. Must be able to work afternoons and overnights. What you'll doing: You will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the execution of food safety and quality assurance programs throughout the Unit. Providing support to the QA and Sanitation Department. You'll coordinate and conduct audits and ensure the Unit maintains Halal, Non-Halal and food safety standards as well as maintains the facility hygiene standards. A day as a Food Safety Quality Technician: Pre-operational checks, operational checks, and post-operational checks, temperature checks, cooler/freezer checks thermometer calibration, sanitizer checks. Verification of cleaning activities of third-party cleaning company. Responds to questions regarding food safety processes. reinforce GMP best practices by completing regular floor walks and self-audits. Escalates non-compliance to the Hygiene & Quality Assurance Manager, and Department manager and follow up on timely corrective action. Conducts regular traceability audits, regular lab collections, and regular swabs for testing. Ensures quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations. Provides support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, training and consultations and ensures employees understand and comply with applicable standards. Who you are: Bachelor's Degree preferred. 3 years of experience in a hospitality, food production environment, catering establishment within floor monitoring, food safety and quality parameters Good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook) Knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems Food Safety Certification, state specific if applicable High School Diploma or equivalent HACCP Certified preferred.
