The Piping Engineer will have comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application. They will be responsible for performing all aspects of engineering and design and independently performing a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project to produce designs that satisfy the requirements of building designs in accordance with applicable governing codes. This requires the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria where the scope is already outlined in the form of contract drawings, specifications, one-line drawings and component estimates derived. They are capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. The Piping Engineer will work under minimal supervision and may provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel. Requirements Requires a BS in an Engineering discipline and typically 4-10 years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Considerable experience in utilizing various computer software packages such as Revit and other automated engineering and design equipment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. Must be able to walk job sites which would include the ability to clime stairs and navigate construction sites. The majority of work is performed indoors with occasional site visits to projects. Up to 20% by both air and ground travel.
