For more information, visit Job Overview The Fleet Service Technician is part of the team that delivers NOMAD's engineered solutions and will undertake tasks related to NOMAD's electrical and mechanical systems. Work is based out of our Waterbury, Vermont office. This position will require frequent travel to customer sites to facilitate system setup, installation, troubleshooting and repair, and general customer support. Travel may be significant at times depending on system deployments and customer support needs. Responsibilities and Duties Provide engineering support both remotely and in-person for field testing, analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair. Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the transportable power systems. Involved in all aspects of battery energy storage system installation, setup, configuration, and maintenance in the field and at customer sites. Support FAT testing on equipment to validate adherence to system requirements. Assist with development of maintenance, service, troubleshooting procedures and records Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns to the Fleet Manager and Director of Engineering, and KORE Safety and Compliance Officer Stay current with NOMAD's product offerings, component specifications, system design and engineering technology. Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment. Test electrical devices and provide on-spot solutions. Use tools such as voltmeters, megohmmeters, and ohmmeters to detect issues. Perform preventive and routine maintenance on NOMAD systems and discuss potential hazards with the safety team and management. Install safety components and connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks. Follow electrical codes, blueprints, and standards for ultimate efficiency and safety. Document all your actions, including testing results and steps taken to resolve issues. Qualifications Vermont Journeyman or Master electrical license is preferred but not required. Preferred three years of experience working in commercial or industrial electrical. A firm grasp of high and low voltage electrical systems and devices; experience with controller-based software and products is helpful. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems. Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be self-motivated and a great team worker. Knowledge of different electrical systems, devices, blueprints, and power generation with the ability to inspect, diagnose, fix and offer solutions. Ability to use electrical and hand tools and read electrical documents and blueprints. Understanding of safety procedures and legal codes and guidelines Must have strong computer skills and capable of learning basic controls software. Excellent time management skills Ability to travel frequently, 25-50% average Physical Requirements Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers orally and in writing. Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device. Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies. Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required. Good manual dexterity is required for troubleshooting, repair and installation. Work Environment The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office environment. Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork which can consist of electrical equipment setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Extended periods of standing may be required.
