ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Procedures and Work Instructions relevant to your work area. Responsible for operating EDM (Ram / Wire), CNC lathe, CNC mill, in the Machine Shop area with the ability to adjust machines to ensure part quality. This activity would be in support of new tool creation, tool redress, new electrode creation, and redressing of electrodes. As part of this function is the staging of the next set of tools/electrodes for processing. Has the ability to operate Machine Shop CNC machines in the Department safely and effectively. Has the ability to train other employees on these machines as well. load / unload, indicate the workpiece/electrode, and touch off tooling in the Rams, Wires, Lathes, Mills and perform the required gauging on the parts in order to meet the required specifications. Tool Polish faces details and other land areas as required. This may be a part of new tool creation, redress, or tools brought in from the press. Provide support to tool crib duties (tooling layout, cleaning, putting away, etc). Check the coolant level of machines with a refractometer, change filters as necessary, fill weigh oils, and grease routine fittings. Must have the ability to index or change out cutting inserts after training and readjust the machine back to the proper settings so the product is acceptable. Other duties may include, but are not limited to sorting of product, deburring of product, assembly of components using various mechanical devices Inspect and check finished products to make sure that the products are within the required specifications according to a control plan and chart. Clean up chips that build up in machines and sweep/tidy up the area daily. Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Employee is also responsible for reporting non-conformities to the Quality Manager. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least one year of experience and/or training in the Secondary department to perform tasks at the Class A Level. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondence, memos, and charts. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization. Must be able to communicate with supervisor and lead-off as necessary. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have the ability to recognize a problem and act accordingly to eliminate that problem.
