Opportunity We are hiring a Marketing Associate to join our Business Development and Marketing team. Purpose and Need At Environmental Incentives, we tackle the world's most pressing problems related to climate change, biodiversity conservation, and community resilience. In this role, you'll be at the heart of creating the strategies and stories that make a real difference. As we grow, our Business Development and Marketing team is at the forefront of building systems that showcase our project impacts and help us achieve our growth targets. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in producing impactful marketing and communications products. They will work collaboratively to build internal relationships, assess marketing and communications needs, and conceptualize, create, and publish content such as blogs, social media posts, and program success stories. With a focus on making complex concepts accessible, they will write and edit content for both internal and external platforms. As a key player on the team, you will be responsible for contributing to a variety of internal initiatives and external projects. You will report directly to the Marketing Team Lead, working to ensure that all deliverables are of the highest quality, on time, and tailored to resonate with diverse audiences across different cultural contexts. Our remote staff and consultants are based in multiple states within the United States, and across five continents. Responsibilities Draft and implement targeted marketing content to enhance our reach and engagement, including blogs, insightful social media posts, and success stories. Coordinate and manage the workflow of marketing activities to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate with project teams to capture and share significant achievements and impact stories both internally and externally. Identify, plan, and facilitate learning opportunities from key external events and meetings to elevate EI's presence across key sectors. Assist in business development efforts by providing copyediting, drafting, and layout assistance for proposals. Work closely with project teams and the broader Business Development and Marketing team to produce effective and engaging copy suitable for various platforms. Manages and utilizes marketing platforms including WordPress and Hubspot. Objectives and Goals First 3 Months: Understand and contribute to EI's marketing systems, tools, and approaches. Develop working understanding of EI's current portfolio of work, organizational purpose, values, and culture. Maintain consistent, professional communication with colleagues about all marketing workstreams. In partnership with the current Business Development and Marketing team, lead elements of marketing content creation and production. First 6 Months: Take an active role in managing and producing content across multiple platforms, guided by the Business Development and Marketing team's strategic direction. Facilitate meetings with and connections across projects to document success stories, develop strategic campaigns, and inform business development initiatives. Track and facilitate participation in key external events and conferences, providing technical staff with guidance and support. Develop an understanding of and enhance marketing platform tracking and metrics. First 12 Months: Independently manage marketing projects, collaborating with cross-company teams, and ensuring alignment with organizational growth targets. Enhance the EI's internal and external communication strategies, ensuring high-quality outputs. BASE STATION The position will be based in Washington, D.C . Environmental Incentives is implementing a hybrid work model in which employees will be required to work in the office two days per week. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The starting salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience; Master's degree and 1+ years relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience capturing organizational qualifications and preparing content in different communications formats (blogs, quals sheets, briefing documents, proposal content). Preferred Qualifications Experience in corporate communications or managing a website. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and supporting successful knowledge management and organizational learning practices, processes, and policies. Demonstrated success building a trusted advisory relationship with internal or external counterparts, including technical specialists, to assess needs, manage change processes, deliver high quality services, and solve problems. Experience advancing work processes across multiple teams in a geographically distributed organization. Experience working in international development or with U.S. government agencies, including USAID, preferably in a professional services consulting role. Experience independently creating client deliverables, including scoping, production, and review; or experience playing a critical role in the development of products. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of SharePoint, including as an administrator and developer. Ability to work effectively and deliver excellent client service across many levels of an organization, including executive leadership, directors, and program managers. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Problem-solving orientation and ability to manage dynamic workflows and priorities.
