ROLE: Clearance & Settlement (Associate Director) LOCATION: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid) POSITION : Type Full Time SKILLS: Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS), Trade Capture, Government Securities Market, Monitoring Controls, Compliance, Risk, Risk Management, Risk Reduction, Establish Procedures, Settlement Operations, FICC, Audit. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform oversight of day-to-day processing activities of government and mortgage-backed operations team, including exception resolution, achievement of metrics and benchmarks, adherence to controls, audit follow-up, compliance, and risk management activities. Make well-informed, effective, and timely decisions using available data and perceive the impact and implications of decisions. Hold self and others accountable for measurable high-quality and timely results. Understand and apply principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized business functions. Support and drive continuous improvement for process and procedures; ensure procedures are continually followed and updated. Articulate and present complex or technical information clearly and effectively to partners and/or non-technical colleagues in both small and large group settings. Lead performance management by developing and coaching the team. Be a strong talent evaluator with a focus on developing others to perform by providing ongoing feedback and opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods. Use subject matter expertise to review and enhance the control environment and identify and implement operational improvements. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate issue resolution, operational improvements, and risk reduction. Take a lead role on department projects and initiatives. Implement short and medium-term strategy and ensure execution of divisional goals at a department level. Lead development of training plans and delivery to meet staff development targets. Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience. Minimum 8 years of related experience in fixed income products, allocations, and settlements - with mortgage-backed experience being highly preferred. MUST HAVE: Minimum 8 years of related experience in fixed income products, allocations, and settlements - with mortgage-backed experience. Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) Expansive mortgage-backed securities allocation background. Must have people manager experience because they will be managing Jersey City staff. Ability to perform day-to-day processing activities of government and mortgage-backed operations team, including exception resolution, achievement of metrics and benchmarks, adherence to controls, audit follow-up, compliance, and risk management activities.
