Doulas will promote recovery by encouraging, mentoring, educating and connecting PPPP with OUD to resources in the community. They will offer full spectrum doula services in primary care, behavioral health, home and community settings. They will help clients follow through with referrals and treatment plans offering advocacy and assistance navigating through the complex needs and services of families in recovery. Job Requirements:1) Will work in collaboration with Doula Coordinator, social worker, nurse navigator and EMPOWER Care Team to increase access to services for pregnant, postpartum and parenting people (PPPP). 2) Must have the ability to support PPPP with evidence-based practices to address barriers to treatment and stigma.3) Must have comfort with multiple pathways to recovery from SUD, work within a harm reduction framework and embrace a patient centered approach that recognizes individualized autonomy.4) Demonstrates willingness to work with clients at any stage of substance use or recovery and assist engagement in harm reduction/ treatment options.5) Must have the ability to provide feedback without judgment or advice.6) Must have flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients and be willing to work in a variety of settings: hospital, provider office, court, jail, etc.7) Communicates and collaborates with team members on an ongoing basis to discuss and coordinate client care and ) Demonstrates ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, families and team members. 9) Completes all EMPOWER PLUS Peer Mentor Doula training.10) Acts as a liaison to EMPOWER PLUS Care Team by attending meetings and collaborating care.11) Maintains a flexible schedule to work with clients in the community setting. 12) Conducts 2-5 Prenatal visits, 2-5 postpartum visits and offers on call labor support to all clients.13) Conducts assigned office visits and office hours. Accompanies clients to provider visits and meetings to offer support, advocacy and improved access to care. 14) Able to assist client in navigating referrals and community resources.15) Maintains accurate and complete client intakes. Supports client's completion of an engagement with recovery plans and pregnancy plans.16) Maintains neat, accurate and timely records of client visits and data collection as required by the program. 17) Participates in supervision on a regular basis with Doula Coordinator18) Notifies the Doula Coordinator and Project Manager of emergent issues, participant crises, and of any issues regarding the safety and welfare of program participants. 19) If assigned to transport clients must comply with the following requirements:- valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.- maintain car in good working order with a valid Massachusetts Inspection sticker.- must carry stat minimum auto-insurance requirements ($20,000/40,000 bodily injury, $5,000 property damage and $8,000.00 personal injury protection)- must provide proof of valid license and insurance to employer annually.- must complete annual driver training program- must report any accident involving a patient to Doula CoordinatorMinimally Required Experience:Must have lived experience related to addiction, pregnancy and medication assisted treatment. Must have 1 year of active engagement enrolled in a recovery program.
