We are currently recruiting for a Roofing Superintendent. Job Description We are looking for a skilled Roofing Superintendent to build out and lead our W-2 crew in delivering high-quality roofing projects. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain exceptional quality throughout the construction process. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Crew Management: o Supervise and coordinate the activities of the W-2 roofing crew, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity. o Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to promote skill development and team cohesion. o Performs duties of roofer when necessary o Complete clerical work daily, i.e., timecards, cost code invoices, monitor schedule, process work authorizations and field change orders originating in the field, etc., and submit invoices to the office on a daily basis. •Project Oversight: o Plan, organize, and oversee roofing projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. o Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other trade contractors to clarify project requirements and expectations. o Attends pre-construction meeting with engineers, property managers and building owners as needed o Works with vendors to ensure material order and deliveries are accurate Ensures proper equipment and supplies are available to complete various projects o Oversees material orders and tracks and maintains company tools, equipment and supplies o Properly use and maintain company-owned equipment. Quality Assurance: o Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Maintains records of job(s) in progress o Inspects subcontractor installation for compliance within contract documents o Address any issues or defects promptly to maintain project integrity. o Do a final walk through with crew to fix any problems Safety Compliance: o Enforce strict safety protocols on-site, ensuring all crew members use appropriate safety equipment and follow guidelines. o Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to reinforce safe work practices. Communication: o Maintain open lines of communication with crew members, management, and stakeholders to ensure project updates and concerns are addressed timely. o Prepare and submit daily reports on project status, including labor, materials, and any challenges encountered. Problem-Solving: o Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction, coordinating with relevant parties as necessary. o Implement solutions to minimize delays and maintain project momentum. Qualifications 3+ years of experience leading commercial roofing crews A valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Experience with all types of commercial roofing systems, including built-up asphalt, is ideal. Must be able to climb ladders Must be able to work at varying heights and all weather Must be able to pass pre-employment screening Must be able to read, understand and coordinate blueprints and project specifications Provide proper layout of partitions, soffits & details within our scope of work to be constructed. Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards. In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material. Familiarity with quality, health and safety standards. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans Monitor attendance of crew Maintain project schedule Supervise and train workers and tradespeople Ensure manpower and resources are adequate Supervise the use of machinery and equipment Complete and submit detailed required daily and weekly paperwork Recognize and inform project manager of potential issues or missing information for issuance of an RFI. From time to time you may be asked to physically perform small tasks within our scope of work. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, climb stairs, and climb ladders Additional Information Salary $66,560 - $79,040 Eligible employees can participate in the Firm's comprehensive benefits program, which include the following: Vaca, PTO, 401k, Medical, Dental, Vision, will go over during interview process.
