Welder - 1st Shift

Hiring Opportunity: Sunbury, Ohio Our client is looking for an individual to join their welding department. Our client has been in business for over 50 years and has specialized in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of sensors and instrumentation for process measurement and control. Our client is looking for a skilled 1st Shift Welder who will be responsible for using hand-welding and automated equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.Job RequirementsDuties & Responsibilities-Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment.-Ability to learn and participate in lean manufacturing work environment.-Reads engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, welding schedules, sketches, work orders, and safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter. -Devises or builds fixtures or jigs used to hold parts in place during welding.-Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, or rulers.-Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.-Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.-Setting up components for welding according to up, operates, or tends welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.-Welds components separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, or other alloys.-Welds components in flat or vertical position.-Inspects welded joints and conducts tests to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job and Experience: - Proven welding experience or schooling-Strong verbal and written communication skills-Deftness and attention to detail-Professional Certification (e.g. AWS welding certificate) is a plus.-Experience in basic welding / testing / calibration of pressure transducers and/or load cells is a plus.
