Adecco is looking for a tanning technician in the Rochester Hills, MI area. Our client in Rochester Hills has a great opening at their gorgeous facility in the area. The ideal candidate needs to mixing experience, dealing with leather before, and other skills related to chemical mixing/processing. The hours are 1st shift at approximately 7:00AM to 3:00 PM Monday thru Friday. This is a 90-day temp-to-hire role, meaning after 90 days, this client will hire you onto their payroll, paid time off, and benefits. Job title : Tanning Technician/Chemical Mixer Job Summary The candidate will work as a Tanning Technician at the Rochester Hills Plant. They will be responsible for operating wet end equipment for processing leather samples and development trials while ensuring quality control and inventory management. Even Simpler: The job is for someone who works with machines to process leather and make sure it meets certain standards. They also keep track of supplies and help maintain the workspace. Skill Requirements Must-Have Requirements: Proven ability to engage in program/project activitiesBasic math skillsBasic skills in Excel and Word Ability to perform color evaluation against standardsAbility to read and write EnglishAble to follow verbal instructions and written proceduresMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Requirements: Experience in leather processing Experience with BPCS transactions Skill Education Wet blue: Refers to a stage in leather processing where hides are tanned but not yet finished. Crust leather: Leather that has been tanned but not yet dyed or finished. Chemical screening trials: Testing different chemical treatments on leather samples. Recipes: Specific formulations used in the tanning process. Formulations: Detailed recipes for chemical mixtures used in tanning. Milling: A mechanical process used to soften or alter the texture of leather. Staking: A mechanical process used to stretch and soften leather. Inventory: Keeping track of stock levels of chemicals and materials needed for tanning.
