Pipefitter Mechanic

This ideal candidate will be a pipefitter, proficient in pipe fitting with the ability or knowledge to weld.Past experience in HVAC systems, Equipment, Installs, Cooling towers, Boilers, air Handler units, pumps, heat exchanges ETC.This position is with the LOCAL 602! our operating areas are DC and VA areas! Location: DC / Virigina! Type: Full time permanent employment! Pay: $46.21 Per hour + Excellent benefits in the 602 union! Duties:Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.Reading isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping efficientlyAssemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading jointsPosition and secure materials and workpieces during installation; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specificationsDistinguish varying thickness and types of metal materialsManually handle and securely apply rigging equipmentOperate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a bandsawHydro test piping systemsEstimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent5+ yrs. experience in pipefittingMust possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for positionAbility to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools Requirements - Able to meet all physical requirements.Familiar with HVAC systems, equipment and installs.
