Job Type Full-time Description The Expeditor is responsible for communicating with the existing supply base regarding deliverables, ensuring on-time delivery of goods, addressing any shipment issues or schedule delays, and coordinating with the buyers to resolve supplier issues relative to schedule or quality of the delivered product. Actively promotes a Lean work culture by performing team member duties to encourage consistent use of LEAN principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. Maintains adequate behavior towards the behavior standards and Excela Credo 7. Attends mandatory and necessary trainings and meetings for one's department Specialty Essential Functions: 1. Reviews purchase orders and deliver dates with buyers and requisitioning sources to ensure on-time delivery and to expedite deliveries as required. 2. Follow up on any past due orders by calling the supplier to establish the new delivery date. 3. Close communication with Buyers for status updates. 4. Must be comfortable calling suppliers and requesting information. 5. Must follow through to ensure information is timely and complete. 6. Job may also involve some purchasing responsibilities. 7. Perform other duties as assigned. Mandatory Standards: 1. Completes PPD on timely basis; complies with fit testing requirements as applicable. 2. Complies with all environmental, infection control, and safety procedures' properly uses safety equipment and devices; reports accidents, injuries, and incidents as necessary 3. Follows department policy regarding scheduling, breaks, mealtime, start time, and quit time; properly notifies department when reporting off, leaving early, or arriving late 4. Attends all mandatory education programs 5. Attends as least 50% of department meetings; reviews minutes if unable to attend 6. Works additional hours as requested; rotates shifts, weekends, and holidays as appropriate for job; accepts overtime and on call-where applicable as possible 7. Adheres to dress code and personal appearance policy; wears ID badge consistently and appropriately 8. Respects the confidentiality of all customer information; discloses information only on a need to know and right to know basis 9. Has no formal corrective action (verbal, written, final written/suspension) within the last 12 months Marginal Functions: Defined as duties that are not essential in nature and do not take a considerable amount of time to complete (less than 10%). 1. Performs other duties as required. Requirements Required Skills and Knowledge: Minimum level of education, skills and abilities necessary in performing the job. Education: HS Diploma or GED Certification / Licensure / Regulation: None Prior Experience: Other Skills and Abilities: 1-2 years prior purchasing experience Functional skills on a PC and related software Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Excel is preferred Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Strong time management and organizational skills Work independently or with groups Proficient oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
