Frantz Ward is seeking an engaged, dynamic associate to join its growing, Litigation Practice. The Associate position within Frantz Ward works closely with Senior Associates, Partners and clients to address clients' ongoing legal needs and represent clients in court, arbitration proceedings and administrative agencies. S/he will conduct research and analyze factual and legal issues to properly advise clients, develop litigation strategies, gather evidence to prosecute or defend claims involving contracts, torts, insurance, and compliance issues. To learn more about our Litigation practice group, visit our homepage Requirements Represent clients in civil litigation matters before state and federal courts, in arbitrations, and mediations. Develop and implement strategies to protect the best interests of the firm's clients. Educate clients on potential claims and other business risks affecting the industry. Assist in the discovery and litigation processes in pending matters. Negotiate with outside parties on issues and legal disputes. Research and analyze complex legal issues and writing briefs for submission to a supervising lawyer. Participate in client meetings. Communicate regularly with court personnel, clients and opposing counsel. Conduct discovery proceedings, including taking and defending depositions and document review and analysis. Qualifications include: 3-5 years of civil litigation experience; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills; Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Ability to deal courteously and effectively with others; Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and shifting responsibilities Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment J.D. from an accredited law school Outstanding academic credentials Active membership and good standing with the Ohio Bar Equal Employment Opportunity is a fundamental principle at Frantz Ward.
