Position Title: Certified Athletic Trainer Reports to: Office Manager This position features: Generous pay and benefits including a 401k and profit-sharing plan! Main function: The Certified Athletic Trainer will be involved in our outreach program, and delivers physical care and evaluates patients on and off the field at the school's athletic events and practices, coordinates the access of healthcare for athletes at the locations, and designs/implements specific therapeutic programs for rehabilitation of injured athletes. Athletic Trainer Duties: Evaluate patients on the field. Design/implement a plan of care based on patient functioning, diagnosis, treatment, self-management, and access to health care resources. Documents evaluations and plan of care via injury report. Delivers physical care to patients including monitoring of patient response and results during care. Instruct patients and/or family members in treatment, activities, and home care. Provide education to patients and family members, Sports groups regarding health maintenance, normal body functions, injury prevention, strength, and conditioning. Provide First aid whenever needed. Assist with the fitting of braces both off the shelf and custom-made. Communicate to players, coaches, and parents. Communicate with team physician/PA. Work with School Administration to establish safe Sports Medicine protocols and practices as needed. Assist with wound care/dressing changes. Other duties as assigned or are necessary to ensure the success of E&B. Required NATA Board Certification License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure- Athletic Trainer CPR for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association or equivalent Maintain 50 CEU credits per 2-year period High school graduation or GED Must work well with people Effective communication skills Strong ethical and moral character references Willingness to support and encourage co-workers Willingness to learn Sportsware (EMR) & Medbridge health systems.
