The RF Engineering Development department of # CAES has a career growth opportunity for a Principal RF/Analog Design Engineer at our sprawling campus in Lansdale, PA (Montgomery County) . This role will design and test various RF and RF related analog architectures. The Engineer must have a strong intuition in basic RF/Analog building block, backed by simulation and circuit analysis. The Engineer provides the circuit designs based on the performance spec, schedule, cost, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. The Engineer collaborate with Thermal, Reliability, Mechanical, Power, and System Engineering teams, contributing in identifying key risk factors and driving requirements for components interfacing with the design. Responsibilities: Design RF Circuits using simulation tools, generate BOM, and identify necessary equipment and components to perform test. Interface with a layout engineer for PCB tape-out. Tune and troubleshoot RF Circuits to meet spec requirement in self-guided manner. Train and give technical guidance to other engineer. Identify the bottlenecks of the technical progress in early stage and address the issue. Understand & Provide Power supply, thermal, mechanical, & reliability requirement of RF components. Provide Input power, VSWR, & filtering requirements to System Engineering. Provide FIT against BOM list and evaluate possible failure paths. Assist Product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing, including writing Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and assembly of RF Circuits. Qualifications: Minimum: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or STEM Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math). Five (5) years of experience in design and tuning of RF circuit. Five (5) years of experience RF circuit simulation and RF component testing. Five (5) years of experience with Product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing, including writing Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and assembly of Power Amplifier. Three (3) years of experience with ADS/AWR/SPICE circuit simulation experience. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US Person under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license. This position will require the ability to gain security clearance. Preferred: MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Eight (8) plus years of experience in design and tuning of RF circuits, RF circuit simulation and RF component testing. Design experience in RF components, such as combiner, filter, switch, mixer, circulator, VCO, Power Amp and antenna. HFSS simulation experience. Familiarity with thermal consideration in RF components. PCB/chip-on-board design, test, and layout experience. MTBF calculation and circuit failure analysis experience. MMIC design and experience in interacting with Foundry. GaN, GaAs, InP or LDMOS semiconductor experience. Load-Pull experience. Good oral and written communication skills to interface with key internal and external customers. Active DOD Secret Clearance. Salary Range: [Principal RF Engineer]: $140,000 - $180,000.
