(CT) license preferred Must-Have: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, understanding of CT software and hardware, thorough knowledge of PACS system Job Description: - Perform complex CT procedures and produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. - Exercise professional judgment while reviewing and obtaining a patient's clinical history for procedures; ensure information is documented and scanned into PACS. - Prepare, screen, and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with the patient and/or family member, and scan into the EPIC system. - Identify and administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. - Verify the appropriateness of exams and communicate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians to obtain additional clinical information or new prescriptions as needed. - Clarify exam orders with physicians as per appropriate CT protocols. - Verify insurance-authorized exam scripts and send modification forms to Finance for re-verification. - Obtain and schedule outside studies in EPIC to ensure availability in PACS for comparison by Radiologists. - Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians and/or family members. - Evaluate radiographs using the PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. - Use consistent techniques to gather information from the medical record, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and ensure patient safety. - Determine whether patients are appropriately prepared for procedures. - Prepare patients for scanning with shielding and immobilization devices. - Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast administration. - Provide accurate explanations and instructions at levels that patients can understand, addressing questions and concerns. - Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines. - Monitor patients' physical conditions for any adverse reactions during procedures. - Follow scheduled shifts policy, including holidays and weekends as needed. - Adhere to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies. - Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull at least 50 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours a day. - Identify and address specific patient needs, such as age, culture, language, and impairments. - Maintain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and obtain ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire. - It is preferred to have knowledge of EPIC and any HIS/RIS system as added by the hospital. - Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
