PURPOSE: The IT System Analyst focuses on ensuring the seamless integration, management, and continuous improvement of IT services within our organization. The role revolves around applying ITIL best practices for service management to ensure efficient and effective IT operations. Key responsibilities include: Systems Analysis & Design: Analyze existing IT systems and business processes to identify areas for improvement. Gather and document system requirements from business users and stakeholders. Design system solutions that meet business objectives and align with technical capabilities. Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure system designs are feasible and scalable. Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications. Create use cases, process flow diagrams, and functional requirements documents. Ensure clear communication of requirements between business teams and IT. System Implementation & Integration: Assist in the planning and implementation of new systems or system enhancements. Work with IT teams to ensure smooth integration between systems. Perform system testing and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT). Monitor system deployment to ensure minimal disruption to operations. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze system data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Generate reports to support decision-making and track system performance. Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems. Support & Troubleshooting: Provide second-level support for system-related issues, troubleshooting technical problems, and escalating as necessary. Liaise with IT support teams to resolve system issues in a timely manner. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring system problems. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, and optimization. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in systems analysis. Provide recommendations for system upgrades or changes based on industry trends and organizational needs. Project Management Support: Assist in planning and managing IT projects related to system development, upgrades, or migrations. Track project timelines, deliverables, and risks, ensuring that projects stay on track and within scope. Work closely with project managers to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. ITIL Process Management: Implement, monitor, and optimize ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Service Level, and Configuration Management). Work with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to ITIL best practices. Develop and maintain IT service catalogs and service-level agreements (SLAs). Cloud System Design & Implementation: Design and implement cloud-based architectures using platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. Analyze and recommend cloud solutions based on business requirements. Manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. API Integration & Management: Develop and manage API integrations to connect various systems and applications. Work with development teams to create and maintain RESTful or SOAP APIs. Ensure APIs are scalable, efficient, and meet security standards. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of systems architecture, databases, software applications, and networking fundamentals. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose technical solutions. Problem-Solving: Proactive in diagnosing and resolving system issues, with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term solutions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both technical teams and business users. Documentation: Experience in creating detailed technical documentation, including use cases, process flows, and functional specifications. Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and experience supporting IT projects. Requirements EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s): Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a related IT role. Experience with systems integration, database management, and IT infrastructure. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software, or other enterprise applications. Experience with systems analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Manage Engine, business process modeling). Knowledge of SQL, database management, and scripting languages is a plus. Professional certifications like Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or ITIL are advantageous. EXPERIENCE: 3+ years in an IT service management role focusing on ITIL integration and process optimization. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, develop, and maintain IT projects. Relevant business/industry acumen with the ability to understand business priorities, operations, and IT enablement potential quickly and thoroughly. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficient in IT tools and technologies, as well as ITIL processes and practices. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability: Being flexible in a rapidly evolving field, learning new tools and techniques as necessary. Project Management: Ability to manage or contribute to IT projects, coordinating timelines, resources, and stakeholders. Time Management: Prioritizing tasks, especially during times of crisis, like managing multiple security incidents. Technical Skills: Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Proficiency in API development (RESTful and/or SOAP). Knowledge of cloud security best practices. Familiarity with API management tools (e.g., Apigee, Postman, MuleSoft). Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Understanding of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works majority of the day in a climate-controlled environment, except for or otherwise specified, performing work in the warehouse or manufacturing areas which are subject to changes in temperature and/or noise. TRAVEL: Limited travel required. LOCATION: Gentex's Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
