Position Summary The Executive Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations (ED) will provide leadership and direction to a team of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) professionals that comprise the central CFR fundraising unit at NYU, which is part of the School and Institutes team. The CFR unit supports all NYU schools, the Office of the President, the Office of the Senior V.P. for Development and Alumni Relations, and a range of NYU institutes and centers. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Schools and Institutes, the ED is strategically responsible for the vision, mission, and activities of the CFR unit in order to develop and implement the most effective strategies to maximize funding opportunities across the University from corporate and foundation sources. The ED will also manage frontline CFR fundraisers in developing and implementing solicitation strategies; collaborate with school development officers on appropriate approaches; and research prospects to secure charitable institutional gifts ($100,000+) from regional, national and international organizations. The Executive Director acts as the primary liaison between University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) and all of the non-UDAR units to ensure that the flow of gifts and grants runs smoothly and that a "360" picture of foundation and corporate engagement across the university is maintained. They will provide senior-level expertise, or manage the most complex CFR philanthropic relationships on behalf of the University, often in partnership with the Provosts Office and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). An important skill set for this position is the ability to strategically adapt to the changing CFR needs for NYU and effectively align resources to meet annual individual and unit fundraising goals and to be a thoughtful supervisor and performance coach to the greater CFR team. The ED will keep abreast of changing guidelines, developing trends and distinctive opportunities in the philanthropic community to maximize the University's eligibility for appropriate funding. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's degree Preferred Education: Master's degree in Business Administration or Marketing Required Experience: 10+ years professional level experience with corporate and foundation relation fundraising in an academic environment, corporate marketing, or an equivalent combination. Experience managing a team with broad range of experience (e.g. entry level, Manager, Director, etc.). Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organization, interpersonal, leadership, managerial and communication skills, especially grant writing and communications. Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals and effectively interact with donor prospects. Ability to adhere to deadlines. Proficient in Mircosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software applications. Extensive management experience in managing a large fundraising team.
