Prime Retail Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Lead Electrician to will work remotely in our Prime Power department.This is traveling field position that will be based out of the southeast region. This person will need to be located close to their electrical helper. We are in need of an experienced and proficient team player to join our Prime Power Division and provide your expert electrical skills. Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job will involve installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts and repairing appliances. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities. Essential Functions: Follow all safe workplace practices, comply with all applicable safety and health rules, and actively participate in safety programs. Read and interpret schematic drawings and documentation and initiate revisions when applicable. Follow daily work activities schedule to meet maintenance objectives. Estimate materials and time needed to complete activities to ensure completion of tasks. Install, maintain and repair secondary electrical systems, such as but not limited to, general wiring, lighting and communication systems. Install, maintain and troubleshoot power distribution equipment systems. Install, maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment, motor drives and associated control systems. Install, maintain and troubleshoot stand-by power systems and associated equipment. Maintain and operate test and measuring instruments and equipment to determine functional operation of electronic and electrical systems. Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation devices and associated systems. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as established by maintenance program. Maintain documentation to record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests. Communicate with other departments to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems. Trains and provides subject matter expertise to Electricians. Responsible for upholding the principles of the Company's food safety certification program. Positive, confident and motivated attitude with the desire to work in a fast-paced, energetic team environment required Requirements: Associate Degree (2-year college or technical school) in industrial Electrical Technology or similar field; -OR - completion of recognized apprenticeship as an electrician -OR- equivalent work experience or vocational training 4 plus years of relevant electrical experience Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferred Knowledge of basic instrumentation and calibration, preferred Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to understand work instructions Color vision and depth perception - when cutting, pulling, or installing electrical wiring, electricians distinguish between different wires based on their colors. Accordingly, electrician helpers are able to differentiate between different colors. They also perceive depth well and can identify and distinguish electrical materials at varying distances Need to get into awkward positions weekly when working in cramped work places, such as crawl spaces under floors Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a teammate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
