Under the direction of the Chief of Government Administration, the incumbent coordinates all aspects of the Emergency Service's Program including Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Fire Alarms and Communications, Technical Services, Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services provided to implement the MPTN and Foxwoods Emergency Management Plan. The Chief of Fire and Emergency Services is responsible for the management, discipline and control of all Fire and Emergency Services Teams. Serves as the Fire Marshal. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with major course work in Emergency Services is a plus. A minimum of ten documented years of progressively responsible experience in career emergency service programs is mandatory. Candidate's service must include hands on skill in the response to combating various types of fire, emergency medical transport services, hazardous material technician experience, and fire prevention, code enforcement and plan review work. Candidates must have developed and applied training programs, and possess civil preparedness and emergency management planning experience, including at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the Management of these areas of control. Connecticut certified Fire Officer II. Connecticut certified Fire Instructor. Connecticut certified Safety Officer. Certification as an E.P.A. Hazardous Materials Technician. Certification as Fire Marshal. Please note that we have designated this position as a "key" position pursuant to the Tribal and Native American Preference Law.
