Our client, a prestigious government agency, is seeking contract attorneys admitted and in good standing in New York state with 1 year of working experience. Temporary attorneys will Represents the agency with respect to support for the Home Care Services Program, the HIV and AIDS Services Administration, Adult Protective Services, the Medical Assistance Program, and the Medicaid Managed Care Program.Duties and Responsibilities:Support comprised of five subunits that provide litigation support and legal counseling to the recovery programs for the NYC Department of Social Services:Child Support provides counsel and litigation support to DSS's Office of Child Support Services and under the Commissioner's assignment establishes paternity and child support orders and defends the Agency's fiscal and administrative enforcement of orders of support.Lien RecoveryMixed Recovery is responsible for the litigation and recovery of the casually related cost of Medicaid from personal injury settlements and awards under Social Services Law 104-b and the excess resources of spouses of recipients, recovery of the cost of public assistance and Medicaid. The mixed recovery division litigates and enforces all of the NYC Department of Social Services recovery claims, liens and child support arrears within a transaction or litigation.Required:Prior litigation experience, motion practice, including drafting pleadings and motions, [and] knowledge of civil procedure and rules of evidence.Must be admitted to practice in New York State.Must be able to work on-site.
