FirstPro is now accepting resumes for a Buyer Planner position based in Waltham, MA. This role will focus on buying and planning on materials and supplies within the company's Fleet and Equipment team. This is a long-term contract that can be extended or converted into a permanent role, and can also provide benefits.This position will focus directly on FleetAutomotive parts and associated Equipment. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other procurement departments in the organization to implement Fleet, Equipment and parts inventory improvements and ensure proper supply chain efficienciesManage and maintain an accurate directory of material storage warehouses, sites, and yardsNegotiate with Fleet, Equipment, Inventory suppliers (long term) contracts for our warehousing, fleet, and other servicesWork with external Fleet, Equipment, Inventory parties to analyze current cooperation and further negotiate future cooperation and agreementsWrite Fleet, Equipment, Inventory procedures or instructions and maintain proper documentationResponsible for transport; warehousing may be added in the future (3PL)Analyze the current Fleet, Equipment, Inventory flows and processes, detect possible bottlenecks, and develop proposals to optimize themResponsible for evaluating the Fleet, Equipment, Inventory service providers (based on the SLA's) to work as profitably as possible but at the best serviceRequirementsBachelor's degree (B.A or B.S) required; in engineering, supply chain, finance, or business management, or other college degreesAutomotive Garage Management, Business Consulting, Fleet Management, Inventory Management experiencePreferred 5 years'+ experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and vendor management. Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.An equivalent combination of education and extensive subject matter expertise along with procurement process experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education requirements listed above.The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, specifically in communications across a multi-national and matrixed organization. Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, and business analysis.
