Technical Program Manager (Vehicle Engineering)Location: Phoenix, ArizonaJob Type: Full timePosition: EngineeringWho we are:Terraline is creating the only clean-sheet, battery-electric heavy truck that is designed for any human or autonomous driver, and is capable of exceeding 500 miles of range. The Terraline team has decades of experience in the autonomous and electric vehicle industries, most notably the Tesla and Waymo Class 8 trucks. You will be working with a highly cross-functional team of systems, software, hardware and vehicle engineers, as well as an incredibly talented team of designers, technicians, and a wide range of other professionals.Position:Technical Program Manager (Phoenix, Arizona) - AutomotiveAbout the Role:We're seeking a highly organized and driven Technical Program Manager to lead complex vehicle development programs from concept to launch. You'll be the central point of contact, ensuring seamless coordination across various engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to achieve program milestones and deliver vehicles on time.Key Responsibilities:Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with teams across the organization and suppliers to establish clear project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.Facilitate effective communication and information sharing between teams to identify and resolve dependencies, risks, and anize and lead regular program meetings to track progress, discuss issues, and make data-driven decisions.Schedule Management:Develop and maintain detailed program schedules, including key milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation.Monitor progress against the schedule, identify potential delays, and proactively implement corrective municate schedule updates and changes to all stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.Risk Management:Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats to the program timeline and budget.Develop and implement mitigation plans to address identified risks and minimize their impact.Escalate critical risks to senior management and propose solutions to maintain program objectives.Supplier Management:Establish strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and services.Track supplier performance, address quality issues, and manage any supplier-related risks.Negotiate contracts and agreements that protect the company's interests and ensure project success.Testing and Validation:Collaborate with the cross-organizational teams to develop comprehensive test plans and procedures.Ensure that all vehicles meet or exceed regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.Triage, track, and resolve any issues identified during field use or testing and validation.Essential Skills:Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.Proven experience as a technical program manager in the automotive industry, with a track record of successfully delivering complex vehicle programs on time and within budget.Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, including electrical systems, chassis design, and software development.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders.Experience in coordinating supplier engagements and managing supplier relationships, with a track record of successfully tracking and managing supplier deliverables.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).Background Qualifications:BS or MS in a related Engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in the automotive or technology industry.Join Us:If you're a highly motivated engineer seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the development of groundbreaking heavy vehicles, we encourage you to apply.
