A high-growth Community Banking client is seeking a Compliance Governance Manager to enhance the Bank's Compliance Management System (CMS). Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, you'll be responsible for development and execution of CMS strategies, mitigation of compliance risks, strengthening regulatory controls, and delivering insightful risk analyses to key stakeholders.Role Responsibilities:Oversee CMS governance, aggregate compliance risks across the organization, and ensure effective reporting and escalation processes for critical issues to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Executive Leadership, Board of Directors, and Regulatory Agencies).Manage regulatory exams, including preparing responses and closure for regulatory requests.Develop standardized reporting for various committees, including the Compliance Management Committee, Board Risk Committee, and Regulators.Support the CCO in setting agendas and documenting minutes for the Compliance Management Committee.Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to support audits, exams, and the CMS enhancement project plan.Track and report on compliance issues through a managed "issue management" function.Take on ad hoc initiatives as directed by the CCO.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business, finance, compliance, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications like CRCM are a plus).10+ years in compliance, governance, or risk management within banking or consulting.Experience managing regulatory exams, including preparing closure packs.Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills to effectively present complex data and risk findings to senior leaders.Familiarity with risk management tools and GRC platforms.Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Dodd-Frank, CFPB), especially for banks with $10 billion+ in assets.Strong project management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.This role is hybrid; 4 days a week onsite in Manhattan, New York.If interested, please apply directly or email your updated CV to
