We are seeking an SVP, Head of Talent. The SVP, Head of Talent will create and lead a strategic talent plan, supported by efficient and impactful talent teams, empowered by world class capabilities. They will develop and refine a business plan which encompasses a vision, mission, and values supporting a robust culture, and a roadmap meeting the requirements of the business going forward. A strong commercial approach and the ability to utilize data and metrics to look at the efficacy of all talent strategies (people management and development, talent acquisition, talent operations, organization development) and continually optimize these in pace with the business, is pivotal to the role. This position oversees Talent Leadership for Mars United Commerce. Candidates must reside within a 90-minute radius of Mars United Commerce's Detroit, Chicago or New York offices. The key aims for this role are to: Assess the brand's critical business requirements, identify talent and capabilities gaps, and create a plan to fill these gaps through talent acquisition and re-skilling. Review leadership capabilities and upgrade our leadership teams, to deliver our Growth plan, and agencies that are 'fit for the future'. Identify high potential talent, critical contributors/high performers across the Groupe, and develop succession planning and retention strategies, to motivate, grow and retain them. Coach our current and future leaders across agencies, to drive retention and performance, build the right culture, promote the right behaviors, values inside the agencies, and across the Groupe. Champion a learning and development culture supporting the Groupe transformation, using a combination of in-house, informal, mobility, and formal (global /local) development programs. Organize the talent teams while harmonizing programs and systems, eliminating duplication, driving efficiencies and alignment across all talent workstreams (people management & development, talent acquisition, L&D, talent operations) with shared centers of excellence, meeting both Groupe and market compliance standards. Implement cost effective models within the Talent plan to ensure the business is able to attract, develop, and retain the best talent for Publicis Groupe in the most timely manner. Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and implement effective employee communications strategies, ensuring transparent, efficient, and effective communications for all employee populations. Create, develop, and deliver diversity programs that are industry leading and recognized as 'best in class' across the industry and wider business communities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading projects which deliver change / transformation across the markets. Analysis, review, and tracking of critical contributors and overall employee engagement. Providing feedback and recommendations to the brand leadership. Managing and developing the Talent teams to effectively support the brand's growth, designing new methodologies to keep pace with brand leadership. Developing the strategic Talent plan in alignment with business objectives. Ensuring the best talent is in (or out of) place "just in time", including management of a flexible mobility network. Building a performance culture and raising management capability. Implement succession planning and dynamic career management building individual growth and retention, while minimizing risk on the business. Resolving employee relations issues in conformance with legal requirements and company culture. Contributing at a senior level to many areas of the business including strategy, resource planning, recruitment, overhead management, key staff retention, learning and development. Developing and implementing an annual plan for our people strategy as an integral component of the business plan Mentoring/advising/developing people; establishing training criteria with our PDX HQ Team. SKILLSETS REQUIRED: Working within a large, complex business with many conflicting priorities must be familiar to the successful candidate. An understanding of the digital industry is highly desirable as is any agency experience. Previous experience of managing multi-sited Talent (Human Resources) teams providing strategic input and key deliverables. Proven experience of working on strategic, as well as "hands-on" levels. Excellent judgment, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Creative and innovative, with the ability to design solutions and facilitate change in an engaging way. Passion for employee engagement and motivation. Previously influenced senior managers, built strong commercial relationships and driven Talent strategy. Exhibits the gravitas necessary to establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with department leaders. Demonstrable maturity and professionalism. Exhibits flexibility and resourcefulness with the ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions. High energy, ethics, personal drive and resilience to overcome obstacles and achieve results. Demonstrate an understanding of personalities and behavioral styles to work collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decisions around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships. Ability to deal with employment law issues (with legal support when required) and to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common-sense approach. Commercial acumen - has a good overall understanding of company finances and uses this information to push back and provide creative solutions in resource and succession planning. Able to problem solve both operational and strategic issues through a pragmatic and commercially sound approach. Compensation Range: $175,000 - $250,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
