We are seeking a talented individual to join our Career Consulting team at Mercer . This role will be based in the New York office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Director - Executive Compensation Consulting What can you expect? The Director - Executive Compensation Consulting leads a team in support of design and execution of performance measurement and reward strategies that reinforce our clients' business objectives You will work with organizations to identify the financial and people factors that drive value You will be responsible for developing compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs that address clients' attraction and retention needs You will execute the business strategy for the unit, direction and focus, engaging staff to deliver results We will count on you to: Lead a small unit within the executive compensation consulting business including budgeting, staffing and strategy, with full authority for people management including: assigning, directing, and evaluating work; hiring, disciplining and terminating employees; conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions; approving salary and bonus actions; and ensuring appropriate orientation and on-going education/training Generate revenue through acquisition of new clients, cross-selling to current clients and extending current client engagements Design short-term and long-term incentive programs that reinforce the clients' strategic objectives Create and/or review client deliverables and resolve unique and difficult issues related to those client deliverables Provide consulting services to Compensation Committees and/or senior management on a variety of remuneration issues, including competitiveness of pay and benefits, performance measurement, and governance and regulatory implications; in addition, you will provide consulting services on broader Human Capital issues and/or market trends What you need to have: Bachelor's degree required At least 10 years' relevant work experience in executive compensation, with at least 8 years with a professional services firm Experience consulting with leading public and private companies in a variety of industries on executive compensation strategy development, competitive pay evaluation, pay/performance links, incentive program design (annual and long-term), equity strategy, change in control planning, mergers and acquisitions, board compensation and other issues Team management experience - mentoring, directing work, evaluating, coaching and developing What makes you stand out: MBA preferred Strong business and financial acumen Proven sales ability in recognizing sales opportunities and closing the deal Why join our team: We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), is a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work and enhance health and retirement outcomes for their people. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $169,600 to $339,200. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
