To learn more about CIBC, please visit ( What You'll Be Doing The Director, Liquidity Risk (VP level) supports US Capital Markets Risk Management's oversight of liquidity risk in the US Region. The incumbent will be responsible for creating various processes, reports, and controls to monitor and analyze the management of balance sheet, funding and liquidity risks within CIBC's U.S. operation with a focus on Capital Markets activities. In addition, the role requires articulating Liquidity Risks for senior management stakeholders through preparation and development of presentations and accompanying analysis. The role provides tremendous growth opportunities and exposure to various stakeholders including Treasury, Technology, trading desks, Finance and various lines of businesses. It also provides an opportunity to understand the workings of the entire organization from the perspective of balance sheet management. Moreover, as part of a small team, it allows the incumbent an opportunity to develop strong relationships and deep understanding of other functions within the organization. There is flexibility in the role being based in the either bank's Chicago office or New York office. How You'll Succeed Providing independent oversight of balance sheet, funding and liquidity management activities in the U.S. operations with a focus on CIBC's Capital Markets legal entities. Support the development of formal review and challenge processes and documentation to support US Capital Market Risk Management's compliance with industry standards and regulatory expectations Create reporting processes to measure and monitor the balance sheet, funding and liquidity risk in the U.S. region by engaging with various groups within the bank and ensuring they meet internal and external quality standards and requirements. Create and implement various control checkpoints to validate U.S. balance sheet, funding and liquidity risk reporting, and to enable errors to be identified and corrected in a timely fashion. Investigate any issues identified in data, reporting, controls processes or other information gaps and ensuring prompt escalation of such to senior management Report the results of review and challenge, as well as any other pertinent topics related to liquidity, to senior US or Parent management Collaborate with business partners and various groups to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables to a number of internal CIBC stakeholders, including committees that span Risk, Treasury, and Business stakeholders. Participate in various bank-wide and regional projects representing the group. Who You Are Values matter to you. You can demonstrate experience with: Bachelor's degree in quantitative finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, engineering, or related discipline Minimum 5 years' experience in the insurance or financial industry, experience in Reg YY-compliant firms and broker-dealers a plus Strong understanding of relational database and competency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and Word Strong analytic, problem-solving, conceptualization and strategic thinking skills Experience presenting to senior management and drafting policies or other forms of documentation Ability to identify, analyze, and rectify project issues as they arise Strong diagnostic skills Comfortable working with large amounts of data Experience and knowledge of CIBC financial and management accounting systems would be an asset. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $160,000 - 180,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
