Job Type Full-time, Part-time Description Chico Animal Hospital is seeking an exceptional veterinarian to join our team! We are hiring for a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian position and are open to discussing compensation options, whether a flat salary or ProSal structure. Full-time Associates on ProSal can expect to earn between $150K and $280K per year. Chico Animal Hospital is a family-owned small animal general practice located in Chico, CA, catering to cats, dogs, and pocket pets. Our charming town is home to Bidwell Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the U.S., the renowned Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (a local favorite!), and vibrant farmers' markets. When not at work, our staff can often be found kayaking on Lake Oroville, fishing in the Sacramento River, camping at Mt. Lassen, or participating in local art exhibits. We are open Monday through Saturday, and our team is committed to delivering top-notch customer service and the highest level of medical care to our patients. Our high support staff-to-doctor ratio allows our veterinarians to focus on patient care. We operate as a paper-light practice, using Avimark for electronic records. Additionally, ScribbleVet is available for both doctors and veterinary scribes to enhance communication and ensure timely record-keeping. A typical day at our hospital includes scheduled exams, urgent same-day cases, and various medical procedures. Doctors have access to advanced equipment, including digital standard and dental radiographs, the Samsung HS50 ultrasound system, Tonopen, portable slit lamp, in-house lab with chemistry analyzer, PT/PTT, dual-headed microscope, and services from Antech reference labs, along with specialty labs at veterinary universities like UCSD, MSU, and CSU. We offer a broad range of services to our clients, including outpatient exams, soft tissue surgery, dental surgery, abdominal ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and more! We are seeking a compassionate and skilled veterinarian who demonstrates empathy not only toward clients but also toward support staff, while treating animals with the utmost respect and care. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for delivering exceptional client service. While we highly value prior experience, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply! Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures. Ability to properly restrain patients. Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision. Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion. Excellent client service and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance. Ability to stay on task and work energetically for entire shift. Ability to maintain clear and accurate records and to charge clients for all products and services rendered.
