As the Vice President of Software Engineering, you will report to the SVP of Software Engineering, Platform Services and be responsible for leading the data platform engineering group. This group builds foundational data services and platform components used by our entire suite of products. of our healthcare technology company. You will provide strategic leadership, direction, and technical expertise to build and grow the engineering team and its software engineering capabilities. Most importantly, you will lead the delivery of working software which provides value to our enterprise and its customers. You will own the execution of the data strategy to get client data into the data lake. In partnership with the rest of the Technology leaders, you will collaborate with product and operations leadership to ensure that our technology and data strategy aligns with our product roadmap and business goals."¯ Key Responsibili **ties:"¯** Provide strategic direction, leadership, and technical expertise for data platform engineering, owning the execution of the data strategy, collaborating closely with the SVP of Software Engineering, Platform Services and their directs, especially with the Principal Architect of Enterprise Data and Analytics. Manage the development of our cloud-based Data Platform, making it the lynchpin of R1's technology endeavors. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support data ingestion, processing, and storage. Collaborate with product leadership to ensure that our technology and data strategy aligns with our product roadmap and business goals."¯ Collaborate with Client Technology and Data Enablement leadership and teams to ensure smooth operations of data pipelines, optimizing the process through automation, proactive alert/monitoring, and self-recovery with a goal to reduce human dependency. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems. Drive the adoption of data strategy across departments. Oversee the implementation of data governance and compliance policies. Monitor and optimize the performance of the data platform to ensure high availability and reliability. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in the data platform. Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and environment strategy, compliant with our audit requirements, from ideation to deployment."¯ Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets."¯ Define and resolve complex business issues. Recruit, lead, and retain a high-performing engineering team, and continuously curate the org structure to optimize for the best outcome. Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement."¯ Develop and implement best practices for software development and engineering management."¯ Set long-term strategy and objectives for Data Platform in partnership with Operations/Product. **Qualifications:"¯** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, advanced degree preferred."¯ 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading large, high-performing engineering teams."¯Prior experience in an executive position in a large company will be a plus. Experience in working with, mentoring, and growing global engineering teams. Experience in cloud services, advanced data platforms, and enterprise software development."¯ Strong knowledge of healthcare technology and industry trends."¯ Experience with Agile development methodologies."¯ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal."¯ Strong leadership and team-building skills."¯ Proven ability to manage complex projects and budgets."¯ Proven ability to monitor and optimize cloud spending, negotiatecontracts with third party vendors, and make build versus buy decisions. Ability to work collaboratively with product leadership to drive the company's overall strategy and growth. Ability to work collaboratively with Operations with a strong mindset of service level and outcome. For this US-based position, the base pay range is $170,955.00 - $265,705.48 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
