Ready Mix Truck Mechanic

Lead Mechanic on all repairs of heavy-duty trucks, loaders, and other related moving equipment. Makes needed repairs on related equipment associated with the shop area and other equipment in and around the yard area. Key Responsibilities:Reads job orders and listens to trucks in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.Fully capable to diagnose and repair/replace various parts/components that have failed or are causing malfunctions on the equipment, such as but not limited to transmissions, engines, drain lines, rear axles, gear boxes, springs, drive line, operators' compartment, fixed ladders and walkways, and other mechanical parts.Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems relating to the hydraulic components, repair problems on the steering systems, and make needed repairs on the brake system of all equipment.Ability to fully inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhaustsService equipment: i.e., grease trucks and related equipment, change oils/fluidsAbility to be the 'go to' person for less experienced employeesMust have ability to meet tight timelines and work under pressure when neededMust be able to train other employees on knowledge of the industryWelding of components necessary for the repair of equipment and/or fabrication of components/parts necessary for the repair of equipmentOperate cutting torch and gas welding equipment, misc. shop tools, i.e., power drills, power saws, air tools, chipping guns, impact guns, and other related air toolsFull ownership and sign off capabilities of safety guidelines and DOT regulations regarding road worthiness.Wears appropriate PPE for tasks being performed.Maintain and help maintain a clean work atmosphere inside and outside the shopDemonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.High school diploma or GED, 6 plus years of related experience and/or training at a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsReady Mix truck mechanic experienceWelding experience required.to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; ability to climb, bend, stoop, and walk.Must possess a wide variety of tools.Ability Previous truck mechanic experience required. Class A or B CDL requiredSpanish speaking or bilingual a plus
