DETAILS ABOUT THE ROLE, REQUIRMENTS, BENEFITS, AND HOW TO APPLY This position is technically responsible for the support of the metallurgical and mechanical testing functions. Essential Functions*:Lab Activities: Performs a variety of Metallurgical lab duties, ensuring the overall efficiency of the laboratory.Performs analyses in conjunction with metallurgical technicians.Proficiently performs duties of Technician I, II, IIPrepares technical reports, including Failure Analysis, utilized established methods and techniques.Maintain SOPs and makes method revisions and additions, as required, in coordination with Metallurgist II, Chief Metallurgist, Operations Manager, Quality Manager and laboratory staff as terface with LIMS for the entry and approval of metallurgical test data and reports.Familiarity with SEM operation and interpretation.Customer Service:Provide general customer service to clients ensuring positive and proactive customer relations.Serves as a technical liaison to our customers and responds to client calls of this nature.Supplies technical information to sales department regarding capabilities and testing cidental Functions:As required.Adheres to quality and safety standards. Supervisory Responsibility: NA Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):· BS degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science or equivalent work experience with a BS in a S.T.E.M. field.· 1 - 3 years of laboratory experience.· Excellent oral and written communication skills.· Strong mathematical skills.· Must be familiar with all metallurgical lab equipment and testing procedures.· Strong customer focus.· Commercial testing laboratory experience preferred.· Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and multi-task.· This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Success Factors:· Ability to assess requirements quickly and work independently, efficiently, and accurately· Ability to work as a key member of a highly collaborative team, working closely and coordinating with people at all levels of NSL· Orientation to detail with the ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects at once.· Failure analysis and reverse engineering experience of metallic components from various industries. Work ConditionsPhysical Demands:OfficeGeneral lab environment includes sitting, standing and walking; infrequent lifting of up to 20 lbs., pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, and crouching. Office is attached to a lab that contains toxic materials with possible exposure to odors, acids, fumes, and other reactive materials.
