Linux System Administrator

Position Overview: We are looking for a Linux Systems Admin with Automation (DevOps) experience to join our team in Chantilly, VA and help innovate how our customer delivers value to their mission through automation. The Sys Admin will be working with a large-scale enterprise application using web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, and sophisticated, cutting-edge domain analytics, with the system hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. The Sys Admin works both independently with little supervision as well as engage with a team to achieve overall project objectives. This effort is leading the charge for how program automation can improve business outcomes across the customer's organization. If you have a strong desire to design, build, and automate infrastructure and system configuration, and improve how people think and work with technology, apply now!Responsibilities:In this position you will be part of the core team responsible for supporting the DevOps foundation to automate and configure full development, test, and production environments. We're leveraging tools like Ansible, Terraform, Vault and Chef to provision and configure entire environments in customer's on-premises data center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Participates in a team in implementing DevOps methodologies into an Agile software development environment.Collaborating and leading with other engineers to plan, design and develop the DevOps environment that includes cohesive CICD pipelines.Supporting the entire Software Development Lifecycle with an emphasis on build and release management via automation.Analyzing continuously the DevOps environment for technical and process improvements (e.g. integration of security measures, faster security and software updates, improved automation, reduced glitches, and software failures, etc.).Maintaining the deployed system, deploying updates and fixes, investigating, and resolving technical and network issues, providing technical support to end-users as needed.Develops and maintains mission-critical information extraction, analysis, and management systems.Uses open-source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project.Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow.Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical talent with a desire to continuously learn and apply new skills and technologies.Qualifications: MUST HAVE an Active TSSCI security clearance, with PolyBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.4+ years' experience with DevOps.4+ years' experience integrating, testing, and deploying software applications to operations.4+ years' experience with agile teamwork, and diverse multi-site geographical team collaboration.4+ years' experience with RHEL andor CentOS system andor network administration.4+ years' experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GovCloud.4+ years' experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.4+ years' experience with standard automated deployment type tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.).
