It's a calling, it's a community, and it's a career.Overview:We are seeking a Buyer for our Young Explorers Catalog, a key position at our corporate office in North Billerica, Massachusetts. Young Explorers Catalog brand is a source for creative and educational toys that allow children to imagine, create, explore and play! In this role, the Buyer will be the primary merchant for the print catalog, internet and mobile websites. The successful candidate for this Buyer will have a background in these product categories as well as strong analytical skills, product selection and experience in creation of a printed catalog. A history of meeting financial targets with a proven record of success in a growth driven and multifaceted retail environment is essential.Responsibilities:Utilize reports to assemble an appropriate assortment of products based on category, price point, and imports sales analysis.Shop domestic and foreign markets for existing product; work with Product Development Dept. to design and source exclusive private label and direct import items.Responsible for price negotiations, product logistics, and vendor relations.Oversee all creative efforts, layouts, copy, positioning and photography.Coordinate with catalog production manager to meet creative deadlines.Work with QC, Customer Service and the warehouse to resolve customer issues and address high return municate with Rebuyer and Inventory Control Manager to achieve timely deliveries and manage excess inventory.Work with internet team to maintain the title website.Supervise and give direction to Merchandising Assistant and act as a leader and mentor, and maintain a positive team atmosphere.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience as a merchant purchasing products domestically and internationally for a consumer retail company.Must have experience building and maintaining relationships with vendors.Prior experience and knowledge of educational and classic toy market is highly desired.Ability to travel domestically and internationally to attend trade shows.BenefitsPerks!Full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k with Company MatchGenerous Paid Vacation Time, Sick Time, and Holiday PayCompany-paid Life Insurance and Disability InsuranceEmployee Discounts, Hays Perks Program, Employee Assistance Program and Good RXPlease contact Susan Horrigan, Sr. HR Corporate Recruiter at (978) 215-3793, or you may apply directly through our corporate website: Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer
